Empowering Hearts to Heal Through Unreciprocated Love

Mission
To shatter the shame and stigma of romance fraud by bringing to light the sophistication and psychological manipulation behind this form of abuse.

The Vision

I share my story to expose the devastating impact of romance fraud, while advocating for language that accurately describes survivors as targeted and manipulated rather than “falling victim,” and reframing financial loss as theft. - Beth Hyland, Founder of A Voice for Unrequited Love

Meet Beth Hyland

Beth Hyland is an advocate, author, and speaker dedicated to raising awareness about romance fraud and supporting those affected by it. After surviving romance fraud, Beth chose not to let it define her. Instead, she turned her experience into purpose, education, and hope for others.

Heart

Hope

Through Beth's LLC, A Voice for Unrequited Love, she focuses on prevention, survivor education, and speaking engagements that help communities better understand this crime. Her advocacy work includes presentations, collaborating with organizations, and developing resources that help people recognize warning signs and reduce shame. Her book, Diary of a Romance Scam, shares her journey so others can see themselves, learn, and feel less alone.

Healing

Beth has shared her story through media interviews and public conversations, including an NBC interview on Capitol Hill and a feature article for LexisNexis Risk Solutions, both of which highlight the impact of romance fraud and the importance of survivor support.

What They Say

"Beth Hyland's Diary of a Romance Scam is a raw, courageous, and deeply human story that exposes the psychological warfare behind romance fraud. As someone who has studied manipulation and social engineering for over two decades, I can tell you this book is not just a personal memoir-it's a masterclass in how emotional abuse is weaponized by skilled criminals. Beth's vulnerability and strength in sharing her experience will not only educate, but empower readers to recognize red flags, protect themselves, and begin healing. This is a must-read for anyone who thinks it could 'never happen to them.'"
